Crystal Zella (Murdock) Wooldridge, 96, passed away Friday, Feb. 19 at Circle of Life- Legacy Village in Bentonville. For the past eight years she had made her home at The Gardens Assisted living in Bentonville. Crystal was born Aug. 14, 1919 to the late Claud and Nora Murdock and lived on the family farm near Cave Springs until her 53 year marriage to James Chester Wooldridge, who preceded her in 1991. Crystal was a member of First Baptist Church of Cave Springs where she served faithfully until her health prevented. She was dearly loved and respected by her family and friends. She was a godly woman who lived out her faith before her children. She provided for her family and often took food or an encouraging word to her neighbors. It was rare to see Crystal idle. She enjoyed working with her hands; sewing, quilting, cooking and gardening. Crystal also loved to journal and wrote numerous accounts of her life as a girl and stories about her family. She also was a reporter for her church at one time, reporting news from her church to the county newspaper. Though she loved her hobbies, her greatest gift was love and she had a big hug and a listening ear for anyone who needed a kind and encouraging word. Crystal is survived by her children: Darrel Wooldridge (Cinda) of Pea Ridge, Marilyn Haney (Gary) of Cave Springs, Ronnie Wooldridge (Sue) of Aubrey, Texas, Janye Worsham (Larry) of Springfield, Mo., and Donna Smith (Dick) of Dutch Mills, Ark.; her sister, Nina Ruth Griggs of Parsons, Kan.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Services will be tomorrow at Lakeview Baptist Church of Northwest Arkansas in Cave Springs with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and Funeral Service at 12 Noon with interment to follow in Phillips Cemetery near Cave Springs. Memorials are suggested to Circle of Life Hospice at Legacy Village, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, www.RollinsFuneral.com.
