Bertha Mae "Boe" Thompson

Bertha Mae "Boe" Thompson, 104, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 at Fianna Hills Health and Rehab in Fort Smith. She was born May 27, 1911 in St. Paul, Ark. to Sam and Tempie Ann Bivens. Boe worked at Blaylock's Grocery in Fort Smith. She attended First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She was past president of Hoe and Hope in Fort Smith. She would quilt all winter and spend all summer in her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, two sisters; her daughter, Loretta Ridner; her son-in-law, R. Owen Tomlinson, Jr.; one granddaughter, Tina Tomlinson and one great-grandson, Chad McClernon. Survivors include three granddaughters: Tempie Lambeth of Carthage, Mo., Traca Lane of Carthage, Mo., and Tamara Shawn Cooper of Longview, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
