Linda Louise Doede, long-time Fayetteville, Arkansas resident, formerly of Tryon, Oklahoma, was born July 11, 1947, in Oklahoma City, and departed this life February 2, 2016, in Fayetteville, at the age of 68 years. Linda was the daughter of Billy Ted and Betty June (Archer) Cox. She worked as an accountant for banks and in the oil & gas industry for many years. Linda was a member of the Osher Learning Institute at the University of Arkansas, she served on the curriculum committee, where she was a valuable resource for classes and programs on the cultural heritage of Fayetteville, Prairie Grove, and Cane Hill. Linda was relentless in her advocacy efforts to preserve and create awareness of historical landmarks in the downtown area of Fayetteville. From 2012 to 2014, she served as instructor and guide on several walking tours, featuring landmarks such as the Headquarters House, Evergreen Cemetery, Harris House, Walker Stone House, and many more.... Her father, step-mother, Eva Cox; and one brother, Billy Bob; preceded Linda in death. Survivors include, her mother, Betty of Duncan, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Cheryl Brown of Tuttle, Oklahoma; one daughter, Amy Dutton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Larry Cox of Carney, Oklahoma, and Tommy Cox of Duncan, Oklahoma; one sister, Dottie Williams of Duncan, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Kelsey Moore of Tuttle, and MacKenzie Moore of Tuttle; special friend, Joe Brodacz; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Carney Cemetery.
