Having lived an extraordinary life, Leland Robert Long graduated to heavenly dwellings on January 26, 2016, leaving behind his wife of 54 years, Linda, two daughters and sons-in-law, and two grandchildren. His son preceded him in death. Lee was born on a Kansas farm July 25, 1931. He earned advanced degrees in Music and Counseling, and completed doctoral coursework in Education. He taught and mentored students in the USA, Philippines, Japan, and Germany. Active in Boy Scouts, he was awarded the Order of the Arrow and the Silver Beaver. Arriving in Bentonville in 1989, Lee became a familiar face at Walmart Store 100 where he worked for 26 years. He taught guitar at NWACC, and gave music lessons in his home. Celebration of Life at Hope Church, 1700 Moberly Lane, Bentonville, on Monday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. Visitation with the family 4-4:45 p.m. Memorial gifts can be made to Royal Rangers at Hope Church.
