Laverne Watson

Laverne Watson, 85, of Pea Ridge, died February 1 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. She was born September 1, 1930 in Roger Mills County, Okla. to Cloyce Price Holland and Claudia Tom Neeley Holland. She married Johnnie Watson February 21, 1951. She was a homemaker and enjoyed embroidery, quilting, flower gardening (roses) and loved gospel music. She was a song leader at church for many years and a member of Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roy Watson; two brothers, Kenneth and Leland Holland; two sisters, Lucille Nabors and Lila McColgan. Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Johnnie Watson of the home; a son, Darrel Watson and wife Anna of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; a daughter, Denise Sharpton and husband Charles of Raymore, Mo.; a brother, Haskel Holland of Pink, Ok; eight grandchildren Jennifer and Rob Sizemore, Ashley and Rusty Thompson, Nelson Watson, Cody Watson, Jake Robinson Jon Sharpton and Bethany, Brian Sharpton and Jeff Sharpton and Haylee; and three great-grandchildren, Ty Sizemore, Trey Sizemore and Jack Thompson. Service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, February 5 at Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.
