Mary Virginia Hoff Bishop

Mary Virginia Hoff Bishop, of Springdale, Ark., passed Jan. 29, 2016. She was born Jan. 24, 1941 in St. James, Mo. to the late Paul and Dorothy Campbell Hoff. Virginia graduated from high school in Bonham, Texas, received her Bachelors of Education form Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas and her Masters of Education from the University of Arkansas. She was employed as a teacher for the Springdale School District for 25 years before retiring. Virginia was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale where she spent much of her time volunteering. Virginia is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Bishop of Springdale, Ark.; her three children: Mike Bishop of Springdale Ark., Lauri LaPuma of Coppell, Texas, Brad Bishop and girlfriend, Abra Pumphrey of Fayetteville, Ark.; three grandchildren: Sean Bishop of Springdale , Ark., Christine LaPuma and Campbell LaPuma of Coppell, Texas; her brother, Dick Hoff of Ruidosa, N.M.; and sister, Sirriya Din of Athens, N.Y. A reception will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale on Jan. 31, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home in Branson, Mo., Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Virginia's honor to the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark., The American Cancer Society, or to the Springdale Animal Shelter.
