Kenneth J. Harmon, age 90, of Hindsville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born June 14, 1925 in Elkins, Ark. to Sam and Rachel McCoy Harmon. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lewis Harmon. Kenneth was one of initial members of the Washington County Quorum Court when it began. He was a Mason and Shriner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Kenneth and his wife were avid stock car and NASCAR fans following them over the United States. He worked in the poultry industry during its early days of growth in Northwest Arkansas until selling his business in the seventies and working on his farms with his wife and daughter until retiring again in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Leona Vaughn Harmon; one daughter, Linda Green and her husband, George of Hindsville; sister, Geneva Harmon Delozier of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Keith Harmon of Springdale, Ark.; six grandchildren: Jon Fitch, Jeff Fitch and his wife, Kari, Jared Green and his wife, Stephanie, Jenna Dickey and her husband, Dave, Jill Brightwell and her husband, David and Jaime Green; five great-grandsons; numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 in the chapel at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.
