Estel Arvid Schinkel

Estel Arvid Schinkel, 86, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at Innisfree Nursing Center in Rogers. Estel is survived by wife of 57 years, Arlene Schinkel; his daughter, Anita (Jon) Larson of Rogers, Ark.; his son, Curtis (Dawn) Schinkel of Kyle, Texas; his son, Steven (George) Schinkel of Anderson, Mo.; his daughter, Marsha (Mark) Simon of Bella Vista, Ark.; his son, Keith (Julie) Schinkel of Keller, Texas; his daughter, Jennifer (Shannon) Hufford of Bella Vista, Ark.; he is also survived by 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his sisters: Doris Hammel, Betty (Larry) Wray, Phyllis Heikkila, Eileen Lamb (Everett Olson), Donna Eppler. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters. Estel was born March 1, 1929, the son of Emil and Frances Schinkel in Kingsbury County, S.D. Estel spent his early years working the family farm in Geneva, Minn. where Arlene joined him in 1958. In 1977, they relocated to Bentonville, Ark., where they finished raising their family and entered into semi-retirement engaging in multiple entrepreneur endeavors. Estel enjoyed the outdoor life including hunting, fishing, gardening, and camping with The Jolly Rogers Good Sam's club. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers, Ark. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial to follow the service at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Peace Lutheran Church. Arrangements are being coordinated by Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
