Mary Carolyn Pendleton, 91, passed away at the Willard Walker Hospice Home on Wednesday December 28,2016. She was born January 16, 1925 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Rufus and Caroline Crenshaw Cherry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Pendleton. She graduated cum lauded from Little Rock Senior High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Spanish. She was a member of Tri Delta sorority. She enjoyed all of Fayetteville's finest social and civic events. She was a founding member of Junior Civic League and Town Club. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and served on many committees and participated in the " Walking Through the Bible" Sunday school class. She was a member of PEO Sisterhood and served as state President. She was always graceful and was a SouthernLady at all times. She never backed down from a challenge and was a mentor to many. She loved to travel and has now moved on to new and more glorious sites where she can have the ultimate tour guide, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her sons; Lawerence Joseph Pendleton and wife Carol of Hot Springs Village, Ark. and L. Brown Pendleton and wife Therese of Fayetteville, Ark.; four grandchildren, Sean Pendleton of Fort Worth, Texas, Stephen Pendleton and Betty Pendleton of Fayetteville, and Jessica Muldoon of Bentonville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Central United Methodist Church and PEO. Visitation will be 10–11 a.m., Monday at Central United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the church.
