Jerry Alexander Barganier

Jerry Alexander Barganier, 84, of Cassville, Mo., formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo. He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Semmes, Ala., to John Frank Barganier and Louise Barganier. A 20-year retiree from the USAF in 1968, Jerry went on to have a successful civilian career, serving as a Director of Transportation, and later as a Vice-President, for several large transportation companies up until his retirement in 1990. Jerry moved to Bella Vista on Dec. 12, 1990, from York, Pa. He became a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church of Bentonville. Upon moving to Cassville, Mo. in 2005, he began worshiping at the First Baptist Church of Cassville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Elsie Mae Barganier, in 2002, and a sister, Carol Bryan, of Kingsport, Tenn. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Shirley Terrell Barganier of Cassville, Mo.; three sons, David L. Barganier of Rochester, N.Y., John S. Barganier of Miami, Fla., Robert Scott Barganier and Tracey R. Barganier of Red Lion, Pa.; a brother, Robert F. Barganier; sisters, Edythe Singletary, Vicki Parden, Brenda Belforte, and Jewel Browning; along with seven grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Dec. 28 at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark., with Pastor James Weaver officiating.
