Walter Leroy Akright

Walter Leroy Akright, age 79, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away Saturday December 17, 2016. He was born September 17, 1937 in Galesburg, Illinois to Leonard and Margaret Akright. In 1975, Walter retired from the US Navy as Machinist's Mate Chief, after serving his country for 20 years. He went on to have a lengthy career with Koch Industries, before retiring and making a home in Bella Vista in 1998. As avid golfers, Walter and his wife enjoyed the many golf amenities and beauty of Ozark country. Walter was preceded in death by his wife Carol Akright. He is survived by two daughters, Lori Seeling of Kansas City, Missouri; Deborah Demirovic of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; one son, Jerry Akright of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Pat and Donna; and his granddaughter, Gabby Demirovic of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A military burial will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday December 21, 2016 in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
