William Burke Kirk

William "Bill" Burke Kirk, 88, of Fort Smith passed away on December 10, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born June 20, 1928 in Fort Smith to Frank Parks and Helene Burke Kirk. He was a retired employee of O.G. & E. where he served as Commercial Sales Manager. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club and Noon Civics Club. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy A. Kirk of Fort Smith; three daughters, Karin Kirk of Conway, Ark., Kathy Acox and husband Gary of Claremore, Okla., and Lou Ann Filiatreau and husband Phil of Alexander, Ark.; one son, Brian Kirk and wife Dyleen of Katy, Texas; one sister, Patricia Parks Townsend of Stuttgart, Ark.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Rosary will be said on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and Mass will be said on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the Rosary beginning at 6:30 pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
