Jerry Lee Clevenger "Papaw", 66, of Elkins passed away Friday, December 2, 2016. He was born August 23, 1950 in Prairie Grove, Ark. to Clifford and Mary Gooding Clevenger. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and served as a Radio Operator in the 101st Airborne. On December 11, 1971 he married the love of his life, Jeannine Blakemore. He was a Master Plumber for 35 years until he retired in 2011. He lived for spending time with family and attending all his grandchildren's activities. He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford "Tootsie" Clevenger. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeannine Clevenger of Elkins, Ark.; mother, Mary Gooding Clevenger of Fayetteville, Ark.; two siblings, Michael Clevenger and wife, Debbie of Farmington, Ark. and Jeannie Silvis and husband, Jerry of Fayetteville, Ark.; three children, Amy Evans and husband, Keith of Elkins, Ark., Kyle Clevenger of Oklahoma City, Okla., Christie Dirkach of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Kutko Clevenger of Elkins, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Ethan Evans and fiancée, Samantha Charles, Layne Evans and Ben Evans of Fayetteville, Ark., Dalton Clevenger, Kyleigh Clevenger and Brooklynn Clevenger of Elkins, Ark. and Drew Dirkach, Gracie Dirkach and Jillian Dirkach of Fayetteville, Ark.; and many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Elkins with Pastor Rex Griffin officiating. He was laid to rest at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
