Gwendolyn Lee Vest passed away from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was born to Wayne Brown and Bonnetta Knox Brown on September 8, 1930 in Weleetka, Okla. At the age of 2 her family moved to Branch, Arkansas. She was raised there and graduated from Branch High School, where she was the valedictorian of her senior class. She also met the love of her life in Branch, Montie Vest,Jr. Gwendolyn and Montie married June 4, 1948. They moved to Siloam Springs a short time later, where she was a homemaker and taught many children piano lessons. She also loved to play the piano and organ for church services. She worked several years in the insurance business and retired from working in the office by her husband's side at Woodland Manor Nursing Home. She was a loving wife and mother, who will be missed by her husband, Montie; a son, David Vest of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a daughter, Debbie McCormick and husband, Louis of Siloam Springs; grandsons, Eric Vest of Bentonville, Arkansas, Riley McCormick and wife Katie of Siloam Springs, Ryan McCormick of Springdale, and Joshua Vest and wife, Becca of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jackson Kirby, Marleigh McCormick, and Croxton Vest. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Dr. Steve Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs.
