John Austin Barr

John Austin Miles Barr, a resident of Bella Vista, Ark., from 1977-2012, and Rogers, Ark., from 2012-2016, died on Aug. 2, 2016, in Fort Collins, Colo. He was born Dec. 12, 1930, in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Barr was a retired Rogers High School counselor. He held a PhD in psychology and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death in 2006 by his wife of 33 years, Airry "Cricket" Pennabaker Barr. He is survived by son, Christopher Barr of Independence, Mo.; daughter, Angela Joseph of Fort Collins, Colo.; step-daughter, Susan Sullivan of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His ashes will be interred at Bella Vista Memorial Garden next to his wife's. A private family memorial service will be held in Fort Collins, Colo., on Sept. 30, 2016.
