Emily Jane Anderson

Emily Jane Anderson passed away at WRMC Hospice on Aug. 4, 2016. She was born in Chandler, Okla., on Oct. 31, 1939 to Ernest T. Martie and Martha Elizabeth (Linder) Martie. She married Bud Anderson on Sept. 4, 1967. Jane graduated from Chandler High School in 1957, and Friends University, Wichita, Kan., in 1961. She attended Graduate level Library Science classes in Albuquerque, N.M. and Norman, Okla. Jane retired in 2006 after more than 38 years in Human resources at Kearney Company/Cooper Power Systems of Fayetteville, Ark. She held various offices, including President, in NOARK Human Resources Association and the Fayetteville Business and Professional Women's Association. She was active as company representative in the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and the Fayetteville Employment Security Department. Jane is survived by her husband, H. Bud Anderson; daughters, Sheryl Carmack and Allen (spouse) of Collierville, Tenn., and Samantha Anderson, Va.; granddaughters, Ashley Carmack of Hendersonville, Tenn., Taylor Carmack of Memphis, Tenn., and Tabetha Byles of Robeline, La.; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Hinds and Aubrey Byles of Robeline, La.; as well as numerous beloved other family members. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Maidene Mildred Jennings, Reba Lea Martie, Lona Lavonne Brown, Elvin Lee Martie and Ernest Raymond Martie who died in combat in Vietnam; and her niece Connie Wyse. A private family remembrance will be held following cremation and a celebration of Jane's life for family and friends will be held in the future.
