Karen Diane (Hock) Potter

Ms. Karen Diane Potter, 62, of Jane, Missouri departed this life Monday morning, August 1st, 2016. Karen entered this life on October 23rd, 1953, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to James W. Hock and Beverly Fairchild Hock. She was raised in Louisiana and moved to Jane, Missouri in 1970. Karen worked as a Registered Nurse until she retired in 2003. A graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Masters Degree, Karen loved nursing. She was a caregiver most of her life. She spent many years working as Director of Nursing for nursing homes in Arkansas and Missouri. She also worked for local doctor's offices and set up a triage unit in Joplin, Missouri after the 2011 Tornado. She had a very caring heart. Karen loved being "Nana" to all her grandchildren. Karen loved animals. Over the years she had many pets including dogs, cats and horses. She was a loving caregiver, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and friend to all. She will be dearly missed. Karen is survived by her oldest son, Jason Collins and Fiancé Tricia of Sprindale, Ark., and her youngest son, Lee Ross of Jane, Mo., her father, James Hock of Jane, Mo., two sisters, Terri Smith and husband Danny of Jane, Mo. and Jamie Hock Harvey and Brad Johns of Jane, Mo., six grandchildren, Mason Collins, Parker Collins, Kevin Shunn, Kaiden Gardner, Harley J Collins and Zander Collins, several nieces and nephews, Becky, Butch, Keith, Amelia, Cassie, Hunter, Nathan, Katie and a host of other family and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Fairchild Hock; her middle son, David Shane Collins and a nephew, James Chad Harvey. Funeral Services for Karen will be held on Friday, August 5th, 2016 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane, Mo. at 10 a.m. with Pastor Hank Gorman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4th at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark. from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family through Rollins Funeral Home's website www.rollinsfuneralhome.com.
