Gordon Evans

Gordon Evans 91 formerly of Bentonville, Ark., passed away April 20, 2016 at the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville, Mo. He was born April 2, 1925 in Rogers, Ark. the son of John Calvin and Emma Van Hook Evans. Gordon was a Conductor and Brakeman for Santé Fe Railroad from 1957 to 1979; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed collecting railroad memorabilia and was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. and local member of the Pea Ridge Post 109. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Levi, Lonnie and Everett Evans; his sisters Lena Smith, Audry Bland, Hazel Scott, Winnie Kirkwood and Christine Roller. He is survived by his wife Myrtle Evans of Marionville, Mo.; his children Buena Evans Armijo and husband Al of Arkansas and children Alfred, Phillip and Shawna; Melody Doursette and husband Randy of California and daughter Randi; Marty Evans of Missouri; Sean Evans and wife Angela of Arizona and daughter Ariel; and eight great grandchildren; and Myrtles children Mike Requa and wife Donna and their children Mike and wife Tiffany Requa and Crystal and husband Mike Hawkins; Scotty Scott and wife Debbie and their children Scotty and wife Brittany Scott, Kara and husband Drew Norris and seven great-grandchildren all of Missouri.
