Ora Vay Pennington Worthy of Springdale passed away on April 7, 2016. She was born in Kingston, AR on July 7, 1920 to Green Lee Pennington and Arminta Rich Pennington. Mrs. Worthy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springdale where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. Among friends and neighbors, she was famous for her homemade bread and hobby of quilting. She leaves her daughters, Glenda Roddey (Phillip) of Springdale and Dr. Terry Worthy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was sister to Nina Faria, Ruby Ward, Gladys Towell and Wendell Pennington, all of Modesto, California; grandmother to five grandsons of the Northwest Arkansas area and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Worthy was preceded in death by her husband Carrol Courtney, her son Tom Worthy, granddaughter, Kristin Roddey; sisters, Sarah Thomas, Juanita Brians, Goldie Mosley, Barbara Ballard and Patty Fowler.
