Olan Dollar Jr.

Olan Dollar, Jr. of Bentonville passed away on April 4, 2016. He was born on September 16, 1943 in Archibald, La., to the late Olan and Ruth Dollar Sr. Olan will be remembered as a dedicated worker. He and his father owned Dollar Lakes in Baskin, La., the first licensed catfish farm in the state. In addition to farming, driving was one of his passions. He drove for several companies, including Howard Brothers and Morgan & Lindsey. He retired as a driver for Wal-Mart having covered 1.7 million miles with a spotless record. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Northwest Arkansas, where he continued to work. He worked for Callison-Lough Funeral Homes, and for Sam's Club, where he became a friendly fixture. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Regina; children, Carolyn Brown and husband Jeff of Rogers, Melissa Watts and husband Jeff of Jackson, Miss., Olan "Trace" Dollar III and wife Kelly of Rogers; sisters Ann French, Lu Christopher; grandchildren, Derick and Tori Guillot, Landry and Laney Dollar; and great-grandchildren, Eli Guillot, Joy and Liv Guillot. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Carolyn Dollar. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery.
