Eugene H. Blatz

Eugene H. Blatz, 83, passed away Sunday, April 3rd, at Circle of Life, Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. He was born February 3, 1933 in Fond du Lac, Wis. to Clarence H. Baltz and Dora Gilgenbach. He married Helen Swore on May 15, 1999 in Crosslake, Minn. Following his retirement in 1983, Gene moved to Bella Vista, Ark. where he enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends. He spent winters in Bella Vista and summers in Crosslake, Minn. Gene was an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He also was an usher at both St. Bernard Church and Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake. He enjoyed many activities with the Men's club and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. One of his favorite pass times in his later years was playing computerized solitaire. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Danny Blatz. Gene is survived by his wife Helen; a brother, Clarence "Fuzzy" Blatz and sister, Lola Braun; two sons, Joseph Blatz (Elizabeth), Peter Blatz (Tammy) and four grandchildren: Drew, Bradley, Emma and Abbey Blatz; stepchildren, Lori (Roger) Sorenson, L. Butch (Brenda) Isensee, Lanny (Kathy) Isensee and seven grandchildren: Jenny, Sean, Nicole, Erin, Luke, Paige, Shelby; and five great grandchildren: Trevor, Kyle, Alexa, Connor and Paisley. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church.
