David C. Engles

David C. Engles, 90, of Fort Smith, pass away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born December 26, 1924 in Batesville, Ark. to Charles Columbus and Pearl Mae Fisher Engles. He was owner/operator of Engles Insurance Services for 60 years, and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church and a deacon. He was a member of Chartered Life Underwriters and was a Registered Financial Planner. David loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jane Engles; one son, Michael Engles of Fort Smith; one sister, Geraldine Gessner of Florida; two brothers, Cecil Engles and Bill Engles both of Fort Smith; and one grandson, Eric Engles of Fort Smith. Funeral service will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Temple Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oak Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gary Hawthorne, Barry Hawthorne, Rick Peterson, Steve Peterson, Bill Engles, Jr. and Bryant Engles. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Temple Baptist Church.
