Delores S. Sommers, 83, passed away in Springdale on September 20. She was born on February 4, 1932 in Freeman, South Dakota, to Joshua and Katy Wollman where she grew up on their farm. She became a teacher and taught at a one-room schoolhouse in South Dakota. She later moved to Indiana, where she met and married Mark Sommers. Mark and Delores had two daughters, Cindy and Debbie. The family moved to Mitchell, South Dakota where she opened the first large nursery school and daycare in Mitchell. Mark and Delores also owned and operated a commercial cleaning service, Aero Dyna Kleen, Inc., which developed into a franchise business. They enjoyed the yearly conventions. They were lucky enough to visit every state. They also got to visit Hawaii and Alaska. She took a two year accounting course and enjoyed bookkeeping. They moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1975. She loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved playing bridge once a month. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Kirkpatrick and husband Gary of Gentry and Debbie Neal and husband Jeff of Springdale.; three siblings, Jane Kugler and husband Roger of Vermillion, S.D., June Juhnke and husband Bob of Cape Coral, Fla. and Pal Wollman and wife Phyllis of Mission Hill, S.D.; three granddaughters, Tara Sanders and husband Jeremy of Cave Springs, Ark., Melissa Sears and husband Tracy of Kingston, Mich. and Dawn Starke of Long Beach, Calif. and four great-grandchildren, Bree and Logan Sears of Kingston, MI and Cooper and Kynley Sanders of Cave Springs, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Sommers, and grandson, Joshua Neal and sister, Sharon Huber. Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Springdale with Rev. Judy Van Hoose officiating.
