Harold David Wallman

Harold D. Wallman, 90, of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at Fayetteville Health and Rehab. He was born May 19, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo. the son of Dr. Barnett and Lydia Wallman. Harold or as his friends knew him-"Hal"-served his country with distinction, first as a Navy Corpsman during World War II in the Pacific Theater, then after getting his degree in Mathematics he completed his training as a Naval Aviator. He served initially in various East Coast bases as a qualified Dirigible Pilot in Command and then went to multiple Naval Command Staffing assignments before retiring as a Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander after 20 years of service. Following his diverse military career, he went on to work as a Business owner in Fayetteville, Ark. then a Facilities Manager in Kansas City, Mo. He returned to Fayetteville to retire in 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dr. Lewis Wallman. Hal is survived by his wife of 13 years, Ursula Posey-Wallman and one step-daughter, Mrs. Becky (Joe) Litzinger both of Fayetteville. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Family requests that memorials in his name go to Hospice of North Arkansas, 3277 West Sunset Ave., Suite D., Springdale, Ark. 72762. Cremation arrangements were handled by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
