Roberta "Bird" Grace Lauber, age 88, of Centerton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Quail Ridge Nursing Center in Colcord, Okla. She was born in Monte Ne on Feb. 14, 1927, to the late Leonard Grayson and Flossie (McGarrah) Henry. As a young girl, Bird moved to Oklahoma City to be an elevator operator in Macy's Department Store. During World War II, she was a riveter, working on aircraft for the war. When she married Curtis Aylor Lauber, she became a homemaker. Best known for her cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies, she also enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, camping and fishing. She was a longtime member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, and was active with several groups there. Survivors include her children, Alan and wife Phyllis of Siloam Springs, Jack and wife Debbie of Wichita, Kan., Ginger and husband Don Whitaker of Decatur, Jim of Wichita, Kan., Mark and wife Levita of Decatur; sister, Eileen Fields of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Max Henry; sisters, Daisy Undernehr, Jane Larrison, Kathryn Henry; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Rogers Cemetery.
