Peggy Ann Stanton

Peggy Ann (Bonner) Stanton was born Dec. 4, 1928 and passed away Nov. 13, 2015. She was born in Vesta, Ark. to Scottie and Bea Bonner and graduated from Charleston High School in 1946. She married Loris L. Stanton in November of 1947 and moved to Fayetteville, Ark., where she spent the majority of her life. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Ark., and Phi Mu Sorority. She enjoyed painting, playing bridge and was an avid, accomplished golfer. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years. She is survived by a brother Dr. Carl Bonner of The Dalles, Ore., two sisters Louise Smith (Wayne) and Laura Barger of Fort Smith, Ark., a daughter Debbie Deneke (Dr. James) of Fort Smith, a son Lyle Stanton (Martha) of Carrollton, Texas, a nephew Dr. Donald Stanton (Suzi) of Fayetteville, Ark., three grandchildren, Laura Deneke of Seattle, Wash., Dr. Wesley Deneke (Vong) of Madisonville, La. and Reid Stanton of Carrollton, Texas and two great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Arkansas, 2408 South 51st Court, Fort Smith, Ark. 72903.
