Sylvia "June" Phillips, 85, of Fayetteville, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born July 6, 1930 in Barling to Avery and Evelyn (Breazzel) Thomas. June was an avid reader and wrote poetry. She also enjoyed crossword and Sudoku puzzles. She was an active member of Grace Evangel Chapel in Greenland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Kendall Phillips, Sr., a daughter, Phyllis McDorman, and a son, Robert "Bob" Phillips. She is survived by four children, Rick Phillips and wife Wilma of Fayetteville, Judy Ross of Farmington, Roger Phillips, Jr. and wife Tamara of Greenland, Cathy Stone and husband Fred of Rogers; one sister, Patsy Webb of Midland, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12 at Grace Evangel Chapel. Interment will be at Cain Community Cemetery in Mountainburg. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, online guest book at www.heritageofnwa.com.
