Paul Hardy Pannell

Paul Hardy Pannell, age 94, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at his home in Fayetteville. Paul was born Feb. 28, 1921 in Parkin, Ark., the son of Bonnie and Cora Bennett Pannell. He retired from the United States Army. Paul proudly served our country in the 82nd Airborne on the European front during WWII. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for injuries he received in WWII. He also bravely served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Paul was assigned to the University of Arkansas for seven years and led the ROTC rifle teams to the national rifle matches. His last military assignment was in the ROTC Department at Tarlteton State College in Stephenville, Texas. Paul was a true patriot and loved the United States of America. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda; three brothers and one sister. He is survived by two daughters, Paula Weaver and Dianne Meissinger and her husband, Bill, all of Fayetteville; five grandchildren: Courtney Wyatt and husband, Chris of Dallas, Texas; Devin Bertram and husband, Steven and Haley Weaver, all of Fayetteville and Jeffrey Musick and wife, Llenny and James Musick of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandchildren: Wade and Cole Wyatt of Dallas, Texas, Ava and Reese Bertram of Fayetteville, Justin, Joseph, Leigh, Jordan, Jacob, and Joshua Musick, all of Orlando, Fla. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Moore's Chapel followed by a funeral at 11 a.m., Thursday also at Moore's. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors under the direction of Moore's Chapel Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Buckner Baptist Church, 2780 E.
