Jamie Whitlatch Bailey

Jamie Whitlatch Bailey, age 63, died Nov. 3, 2015 at her home in Fayetteville. She was born Nov. 5, 1951 in Tulsa, Okla. to Howard James Whitlatch and Shirley JoAnn Dobson Whitlatch. She is survived by her husband, Frederick D (Rick) Bailey of the home; her mother; one brother, Joseph Howard Whitlatch (Debbie) of Fayetteville; three children: Tracee George Whittenburg of Mannford, Okla., Amanda George of Roanoak, Va., and Christian George of Christiansburg, Va.; two stepchildren, Frederick D (Ross) Bailey of Fayetteville, Ark. (Jessica) and Kristina Bailey Reynolds of Fayetteville, N.C. (Andy); and multiple cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, James Whitlatch. She was a Registered Nurse in Emergency Medicine and Cardiology at Washington Regional Medical Center and multiple other hospitals in California, South Carolina, and Texas for almost 40 years. A graduate of Fayetteville High School and the University of Arkansas, she was raised in Fayetteville where her father was an artist, sculptor, and Professor of Art at the University of Arkansas. Her mother was a teacher at Butterfield Trail Elementary. Jamie loved to travel, loved nursing, and loved her dogs, horses, birds and Rick. Jamie disliked funeral services and wanted no ceremony. Instead, a gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date in celebration of her life.
