Mary JoAnn Park Walton, born March 23, 1933 in Clarksville to Thelma and Goldburn Park, passed away this past Friday morning, November the 6th. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 59 years, Henry H. Walton, her brothers, Bill Park and Tom Park, and her son-in-law Dr. Al Keller. She is survived by her three children, Sara Walton Keller, Susie Walton, and Raymond Walton, her two grandchildren Dr. Will Keller and Ben Keller, two brothers, Dr. Jerry Park and Bob Park, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. JoAnn Walton attended Clarksville schools which she graduated from in 1951. After graduating from Capital City Business College she returned to Clarksville to begin a long career working, for Eureka Brick & Tile, Clarksville Hospital, and Regions Bank. JoAnn was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, working as the church secretary for a time. She sang in the choir for 65 years and was a member of the Friendship class for 60 years. She loved her church family and they loved her. JoAnn was a woman of many hats: wife, mother, grandmother, friend, caregiver, employee, and many others. She was also a woman of many names: JoAnn, Momma, Aunt JoAnn, Aunt Joanie, but the name she loved most was her grandmother name, Momma Jo or the shortened version, MJ. To have friends you must be one yourself. JoAnn was surely a friend to many and they in turn returned that friendship. Her beautiful, infectious smile will be missed by all those who knew and cherished it. The funeral service for JoAnn Walton will be Tuesday, November 10th at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Ark. The visitation will be Monday at Roller Cox Funeral in Clarksville from 1-7 p.m. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be donated to First United Methodist Church of Clarksville, P.O.
