Floyd "Gene" Kirby, 87, of Rogers, Ark. passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Jamestown Nursing and Rehab. He was born June 6, 1927 to Fred and Catherine Forquer Kirby. Gene proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. After his service, he painted homes for many many years. He was known for sharing his homemade raspberry jelly and chow-chow with friends and family. Gene loved fishing, time in the woods and growing a garden. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren. Gene is survived by his wife of 65 years, Opal Pauline; one son, Scott Kirby and wife, Linda of Rogers, Ark.; three daughters, Debbie Hargrave and husband, Russ of Rogers, Ark., Susan Norton and husband, Randy of Centerton, Ark. and Vicki Booherand and husband, Danny of Rogers, Ark.; three siblings, Charles Kirby, Bobbie Brooks and Doris Gilvin; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015at Barron Cemetery with Pastor Shane Pair and Lynn Brown officiating.
