Derrell Dwain Benson

Derrell D. Benson, 83, of Bentonville, Ark. passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Circle of Life Legacy Village. He was born January 30, 1932 in Alva, Okla. to Vernon and Myrtle Henderson Benson. Derrell proudly served in the United States Army after graduating from Waynoka High School in 1950. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belva in 2008; his parents; and five brothers, Bobby Lee, Marvin Dean, Charles Beverly, Rogers Vernon and Donald Gene. Derrell is survived by a son, Richard Benson and wife, Tina of Bentonville, Ark.; a daughter, Christine Strunk of Tulsa, Okla.; three brothers, James Benson of Clearwater, Kan., Bill Benson and wife, Arleen of Fairview, Okla., and Delbert Benson of Jenks, Okla.; two sisters, Gayle Farnsworth and husband, Geoff of West Grove, Pa. and Mary Lou Glascoe and husband, Duane of Amarillo, Texas; one granddaughter, Ashley Struck of California; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Bentonville with Bro. Phillip Smith officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., until service time.
