Joyce Elaine Thiesse

Joyce Elaine Thiesse, age 89, of Fayetteville, formerly of Elm Springs, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2015, in Springdale. She was born March 5, 1926, in Beaver Creek, Minnesota, the daughter of Sydney and Inga Blinsmon. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale. Mrs. Thiesse graduated from Rock Rapids, Iowa High School. She married Edward Thiesse in February 1947 and lived in the Rock Rapids area until moving to Willow Lake, South Dakota in 1951. She moved to Elm Springs in 1974, where she enjoyed collecting antiques and entering cooking contests and being a practical joker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Thiesse. She is survived by seven children: Steven Thiesse and wife, Judy, of Mitchell, South Dakota; Monty Thiesse and wife, Lisa, of Olympia, Washington; Dennis Thiesse and wife, Sandy, of Shorewood, Minnesota; Marty Thiesse and wife, Melanie, of Springdale; Lori Miller and husband, Paul of Springdale; Lesli Kramer and husband, Greg, of Slayton, Minnesota; and Trav Thiesse and wife, Katherine, of Williamsburg, Virginia; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Koel, of Pismo Beach, California, brother, Roger Blinsmon, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and sister, Joann Newman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Pastor Mark Krause officiating with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery. There will not be any service at the Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons and sons-in-law.
