Thomas Leonard Hite

Thomas "Tom" L. Hite, 72, of Bentonville passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Rogers, Arkansas following a lengthy illness. He was born August 18, 1942 in Miami, Oklahoma to Orville L. "Cotton" Hite and Hildreth Clark. He grew up in Miami, Oklahoma where he resided until moving to NWA in 2000. He graduated from Miami High School in 1960. He also worked for Western Electric in Lee's Summit, Missouri and as a custodian for the Miami Public Schools and the Rogers Public Schools. He loved riding motorcycles and remodeling homes. He was a former member of the Rotary and Kiwanis's Club. He owned and operated Hite Motor Company for many years. Tom is survived by: his wife Teri Macklin Hite, whom he married October 21, 1972, his sisters; Virginia Leake, of Columbus, Kansas, Barbara Hite, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Humpke, of Frisco, Texas, his children; David and Lisa Hite, of Belton, Missouri, Greg and Melissa Hite, of Belton, Missouri, Deena and Seth Richardson, of Neosho, Missouri, Julie Hite Henbest, of Rogers, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son Brian Newman. A celebration of Life gathering will be planned in Miami, Oklahoma in the upcoming weeks. Memorials may be sent to: The Children's Miracle Network or to The United Way. Tom had a good heart and kind soul. He enjoyed telling jokes, to see people laugh and smile.
