Father Ralph James Caley, 80, of Lowell, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. He served his country faithfully during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy on board the U.S.S. Essex CVA-9, flagship of Task Force 77.7. Father Ralph was a lifetime member of the American Legion serving as Post Commander three times for Post 1198 in Park Forest, Ill. He was a detective with the Cook County Sheriff's Department in Chicago, Ill., serving in the Juvenile Division and Vice Division for three years. As CEO of Arkansas Risk Surveys, Inc., he provided property risk assessment surveys for major insurance carriers in Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. In 2008, he made oblation as a Benedictine Oblate of Subiaco Abbey and began an eight year career as a hospice Chaplain helping many patients and family members of those in need. In 2009, Father Ralph was ordained into the Priesthood of the United Episcopal Church and in 2013 became a member of the Priory of St. Stephen the Protomartyr, later transferring his Priesthood to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Anglican Rite in Rogers, Ark., where he continued to minister. Father Ralph is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley; sons, Patrick and wife Monta, Daniel and fiancée Amy, and Christopher and wife Laura Beth; five grandchildren, Zach, Patrick Jr., Codee, Madison and Jayden; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Michael. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Corpus Christi Anglican Church, 1700 Prairie Creek Drive, Rogers, with a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery, 700 S.
