Lonnie Burl Gilbow

Mr. Lonnie Burl Gilbow, age 89, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at North Hills H&R in Fayetteville. He was born June 3, 1925, in Manila, Arkansas to Luther and Rosie Griffith Gilbow. Mr. Gilbow served in the U.S. Marines in World War II, saw combat in the Pacific Theatre, was honorably discharged a Corporal, and worked as a businessman. Lonnie was a beloved father and grandfather who will be remembered for his storytelling and comedic antics. Mr. Gilbow, a Baptist, was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jackie Gilbow and grandchild, Stephanie Wagner. Mr. Gilbow is survived by his wife Billie Gilbow of Fayetteville, daughter Ann Gilbow Baker, sons, Barry Gilbow and Jerry Gilbow, grandchildren, Brett Baker, Shelly Harrod, Hannah Salmonson, Elizabeth Baker, Johnny Baker, Nathan Baker, Justin Gilbow, Cody Foster, Matthew Travis, Jesse Travis, Lonnie Gilbow, Brie Gilbow and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Arrangements by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 West Walnut, Rogers, Arkansas. Special thanks to North Hills H&R and WRMC Hospice for their compassionate care.
