Larry Jayson Swenson

Larry Jayson Swenson, 74, died March 29, 2015 at Legacy Village in Rogers near his home in Bella Vista where he had lived since retirement. He was born in Faribault, Minn. to Alfred and Elvina Swenson on May 14, 1940. Larry spent his youth moving across the country, attending 13 different elementary schools before is parents settled in Austin, Minn. He graduated from Austin High School in 1958 being a member of the 1957 state championship football team. He received his Teaching Degree at Mankato State University and spent 29 of his 31 years of teaching at LeRoy-Ostrander High School where he taught history and government, was the athletic director, and coached several sports. He moved to Bella Vista, Ark. in his retirement so that he could golf year around which he did daily. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joan, two sons, Eric (Jill) Swenson of Pine Island, Minn., Lars (Cindy Passe) Swenson of Maple Grove, Minn., two grandsons, Avery and Tate Swenson, and his loving dogs Josie and Daisy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at 1pm at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hill Blvd, Bella Vista, Ark. 72715 with Rev. Rex Dickey officiating.
