Jimmy Ray Walker passed from this life March 18, 2015 while in the loving care of the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks Palliative Care Unit Jimmy was born March 23, 1943 in Berryville, ARK. to John Franklin Walker and Lillie Claussie Roberson. He grew up in and around Rogers, Ark., entering the U.S. Navy in 1960 at San Diego, Calif., serving until 1964. While in California he married Sharon James in 1963 to whom was born two children, Tamara Lynn Sanchez of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Timothy Ray Walker and his wife Jackuelin of Pea Ridge, Ark. Jim spent the remainder of his life in Northwest Arkansas, marrying again in 1974 to Vera Sue Piha. They have one son, Joesef Franklin Walker and one grandson, Nicolaus Cole Walker. Jim and Sue owned and operated Walker's Carpet Service from 1975 until the present day with the help of their sons. Left behind-many dear friends and family members; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilburn and Peggy Walker, Calvin and Jamie Walker; son, Justin Franklin, wife Terry; six grandchildren, Josh, Matthew Marchena, Robby, Ryan, Felicia and Nicolaus Walker; two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Walker, Isa Marchena; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation will be by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home with family memorial service to be determined.
