JoAn Crook Woody, age 81, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 in Fayetteville. She was born June 1, 1933 to George and Beatrice Hall Crook. She graduated from Fort Smith High School and received a Bachelor and later a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas. She taught sixth grade at Root Elementary school for many years. JoAn married the love of her life, Jack William Woody, on June 27, 1954 and they raised their four children together. He preceded her in death in 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her youngest sister, Lana Bartlett; brothers-in-law, Jim Woody and Charlie Woody and sister-in-law, Myra Rice. She is survived by their four children, Kelle Kreuz and husband Jim, Clay Woody and wife Barbara, Jeffrey Woody and Darcy Smith and husband Michael; her sister, Janet Robertson and husband Gene and her in-laws, Tim and Peggy Woody, Randy and Brenda Woody, Jerry Rice, Joan Woody, Yvonne Woody and Ron Bartlett. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jeremy Woody, Kara Woody Lewis, Andrew Woody, Kevin Kreuz, Rachael Kreuz, Hannah Smith and Woody Smith and her five small great-grandchildren, as well as many special nieces and nephews and treasured friends. A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Please join us to share a glass of wine and memories of JoAn. A private burial will be held at Son's Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
