Anita Fay Pugh (Becky) passed away peacefully Friday, March 13, 2015 in Allen Morgan Health Center at Trezevant Manor, Memphis, Tenn. Becky was born April 21, 1921 to Minnie and Reuben Beck in Kevil, Ky. She was raised in Paducah, Ky. She married the late Frank Edrington in 1948, and they made their home in Osceola, Ark., where Frank was in the Edrington family farming business. They had two daughters, Anita and Betty. Frank died in 1976. Becky later married the late Bob Pugh in 1982, and they continued to live in Osceola. Becky was a former president of the Osceola chapter O of PEO, a philanthropic organization, and she was a member of the First Methodist Church of Osceola for 60 years. Becky moved to Trezevant Manor in Memphis in 2004 and immediately immersed herself in the many volunteer and social opportunities there. She had the nickname of "Ms. Trezevant" because she was often the first person to welcome new residents with a smile and an invitation to supper in her apartment. She loved her home at Trezevant Manor and her many dear friends who enveloped her life and brought much joy to her during the past 11 years. Becky loved to travel, and she will be remembered for her sweet, sunny smile, her optimism, and her love and devotion to her family and friends. Becky is survived by her two daughters, Anita McCarty (Mike) and Betty Julian (Roland), five grandchildren: Michael McCarty (Nikki), Frank McCarty (Nicole), Phil McCarty (Jennifer), Brad Julian (Jaclyn), and Rebecca Julian; and five great-grandchildren: Caden McCarty, Trenten McCarty, Emerson Julian, Madison McCarty, and Miles Edrington McCarty. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 393, Osceola, Ark. 72370; The Trezevant Manor Foundation, 117 North Highland St., Memphis, Tenn. 38111; or charity of donor's choice. The visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola on Tuesday, March 17 from 10 to 11 followed by a memorial service in the sanctuary. Roller Swift Funeral Home in Osceola will be in charge of the arrangements. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com. A Celebration of life service will be held at Trezevant Manor, Tuesday, March 17. The family would like to express their sincere heartfelt gratitude to The Trezevant Manor Family, Allen Morgan Health Center, and Crossroads Hospice for the tender loving care they showed our Mother.
