Warren Edwin Bathke, 88, of Bentonville, Arkansas "went home to be with Jesus" Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Meadows Assisted Living in Bentonville. He was born February 3, 1927 in Waseca, Minnesota, the son of Emma Born and John Bathke. Dr. Bathke spent 20 years in the ministry and 20 years in education. A majority of his time in education was spent at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri. He also spent 9 years as the President of Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska. He enjoyed pouring love into the lives of the students and assisting young ministers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed living in the home he had built on Loch Lomond, in Bella Vista. He enjoyed deer hunting and his last hunting trip was with three of his grandsons, when all of them bagged a deer. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for approximately 20 years. Dr. Bathke's greatest legacy and gift to the community was to dream of and build The Meadows Assisted Living Community. He wanted to give to and care for "the greatest generation". His dream came true in 2007 when it opened. Many hundreds of people have been blessed by his dream and sacrifice. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Gladys Bathke in 2011, six sisters, and one brother. Warren is survived by: one son; Brian Bathke and his wife Margaret, of Belton, Missouri, one daughter; Ann Standley and her husband Harry, of Bella Vista, one sister; Hazel Bathke, of New Mexico, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Dr. Bathke has touched many lives. He was a blessing to those around him with his unconditional love, sweet and gentle nature. He has created a strong legacy that will carry on long after his physical presence is gone. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14 with the celebration of his life service at 2 p.m., held at Village Bible Church in Bella Vista with Pastor Mark Voll officiating.
