Thomas Vinton Carroll, 82, died on March 10, 2015. He was born to Clarence and Charlene Carroll on August 6, 1932 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Tom is survived by his wife, Jo Carroll, and three children: Michael Carroll, Kevin Carroll (Lisa Carroll, wife) and Kristi Wilson. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Jenny Carroll, Adam Carroll, Lindsey Wilson, Natalie Wilson and Tyler Wilson. His newest joy was great granddaughter, Harper Henry. Tom was the eldest of eight siblings and is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Leo Carroll (Clareen, wife), Dennis Carroll and one sister, Vicki Thatcher (David Thatcher, husband). Tom married Jo Ann Presley in 1952 in St. Joseph, Missouri and they recently celebrated 62 years of happiness. Tom retired from AT&T after more than 30 years' service in St. Joseph and Kansas City, and then started his own company, "Dial a Pro" telephone service, before he and Jo retired in Bella Vista, Ark., 18 years ago. Tom was proud to serve his country during the Korean War. He continued his pride of country with many years of service in the VFW Color Guard and as a member of American Legion #341. Tom was an avid golfer, civic leader, church president and truly amazing family man. He touched the lives of many people through his leadership roles as a local AFL-CIO President, in the Boy Scouts of America, in other civic affairs, teaching Sunday school and in other numerous volunteer projects. Those who met Tom were mesmerized by his sparkling blue eyes, charming smile and warm demeanor. The light of Heaven is shining a little brighter since God has called him home. A Memorial Service will be held at Highlands Methodist Church Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. Donations may be made in Tom's memory to Highlands Church, 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, Ark. 72715, or American Legion Post #341, 1889 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, Ark. 72714.
