Velma E Lynk, formerly of Gladbook, Iowa, died in Bella Vista, Ark. on March 6, 2015. Born July 5, 1919, she was the daughter of Ray and Mae Eitel of Hansell, Iowa. The family later moved to Hampton where her parents owned and operated a dairy farm. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1937 and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids. In 1941, she was married to Ray Lynk of Eldora. They owned a dry-cleaning business in Gladbrook for 25 years, and she then worked at the local grocery store as well as gave piano lessons to area children. Preceding her in death was her husband, Ray, in 1981; her parents; and three brothers. In 2008, she moved to Bentonville, Ark. to live with her daughter. Surviving are her daughters, Marcia (Bob, deceased) Haines of Bentonville, Ark., Susan (Ray) Frimml of Brooklyn, Iowa; a grandson; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Private graveside services will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook. Memorials may be made to the Gladbrook Public Library, Gladbrook, Iowa, 50635 or to a charity of your choice.
