Leona E Claussen

Leona E Claussen, 93, passed away on March 7, 2015. She was born on March 3, 1922 to Jess & Eva Brown in Elk Point, S.D. Leona was raised in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to Calif. in 1965. Her hobbies were crocheting, playing cards, and square dancing. She was very involved with The Church of the Nazarene in Bentonville by singing in the choir, helping in the food pantry, and was a prayer partner. Leona is survived by her five children, Gerry Roth, Frank, Marlene Lucas, James, Milford Claussen, Rebecca, Dixine Wood, and Craig Claussen, Patricia. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Leona is also survived by one brother, Walt Brown, Rosie, and a sister, Patricia Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Emil Chriss Claussen; one son, Douglas Gale Claussen; and one granddaughter, Candi Ilene Claussen. Her funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Bentonville, officiated by Leona's nephew, Scott Brown. The burial will follow at Bentonville Cemetery. A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 5 until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
