James Frank Simek, Jr.

James Frank Simek, Jr., of Garfield, passed away on March 5, 2015 in Rogers, Ark. He was born Oct. 4, 1942 to the late James Frank Simek, Sr. and Florence Zabinski Simek in Chicago, Ill. He retired from the Chicago Police Department where he served for 36 years. He was also a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bentonville. Survivors include his wife , Betty Huenefeld of Garfield; two sons, Wayne Simek of Chicago, Ill., James F. Simek IV of Garfield; four daughters, Tawnya Marshall of Chicago, Ill., Donna King of New Carlisle, Ohio, Desiree Sowders and Helen Sowders both of Chicago, Ill.; he has 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Frank Simek III and Ronald Sowders. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, June Donna Simek. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bentonville. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers. Interment will be in the St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery in Rogers.
