Anna Kathryn "Katie" Devore

On March 5, 2015, following a brief illness, Anna Kathryn (Katie) DeVore passed away peacefully at her home while being cared for by her family, she was 84. She was born on July 13, 1930 in Winslow, Ark., to George Emmet and Anna Clyde Osburn DeVore. She was the youngest of nine siblings. Kathryn moved to Fayetteville after high school where she met and in 1948, married Thomas Lee DeVore of Fayetteville. They had four children. Kathryn graduated from nursing school In 1964. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic then at Washington Regional Medical Center where she was an Emergency Room nurse for many years. She retired in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom and son, Jerry Lee. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Adams of Fresno, Calif.; son, Tommy Dale DeVore and wife, Loretta, of West fork; daughter, Rhonda Kaye and her husband, Steven Reaves, of Hog Eye; daughter-in-law, Janet DeVore of West Fork; daughter, Carole Ann and her husband, Jim Burgin, of Fayetteville; grandsons, Chad Reaves and Darren and Jeffrey DeVore; granddaughters, Jennifer Reaves Barton, Anna DeVore, Kristin Burgin Fusco and Ashley Burgin; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn DeVore, Amber and Chad Thomas Reaves, Dustin, Kendall and Sydney Barton, Samuel and Abigail Fusco. Kathryn had a large extended family and several close friends. Her dog, Chollie, brought her much comfort and happiness. A memorial service will be held in the spring on the beautiful family property where she and Tom raised their family and Kathryn and Jerry's ashes were cast.
