Charles Monroe Carson

Charles Monroe Carson, 91, of Fayetteville died Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Fayetteville. He was born October 15, 1923 in Ft. Smith, AR. to Arthur and Johnnie Lee Carson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII; a survivor of the Normandy Invasion; was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans; was a master carpenter and cabinet making. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie Caudle Carson; three brothers; four sisters; and a granddaughter, Anita Nicole Huffey. He is survived by two sons, Jack Carson and wife, Anna of Valparaiso, Fla. and Joseph Carson and wife, Barbara of Vancouver, Wash.; four daughters, Jeri Carson of Springdale; Judi Flowers and husband, John of Prairie Grove; June Huffey and husband, Richard of Springdale; and Janice Carpentier and husband, David of Redding, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Baptist Ford Church in Greenland with Reverend Jim Holt and Minister Norma Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Beard's Chapel.
