H.L. Parson, 79, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, June 2015 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born September 4, 1935 at Wharton, Arkansas, the son of Sam and Norma Beasley Parson. H.L. was plant manager for Weyerhaeuser Corporation in Ontario, California until his retirement in 1982. Upon retirement H.L. and Janelle returned to Springdale, Arkansas where he loved reading his Bible, visiting family and friends, horseback riding and gardening. He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Al Parson and Sam Max Parson, one stepsister, Nancy Lee Maxwell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Janelle Gilliam Parson of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Wilson and Michelle Parson, both of California; one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Sheila Parson of California; two granddaughters, one grandson; three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Steve Barthelemy officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home-Huntsville www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. Pallbearers will be: Terry Phillips, Brian Parson, Ben Phillips, Dennis Dablemont, Steve Morris and Bob Parson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dan Phillips, Sonny Baker, Jerry Boseman, Robert Carter, Ken Francis, Raymond Burke and Antonio Pando. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
