Jack Gentry Harris

Jack Gentry Harris of Fayetteville, Ark., formerly of Berryville, Ark. passed away on June 15, 2015 at the age of 76. He was the loving son of Lewis and Edna Gentry Harris. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay Harris; son, Mark Harris and wife, Donna. Jack served in the National Guard and US Army for thirty-two years and retired with a rank of Master Sargent after the Iraq Gulf War. He gave freely of his time and energies to help others via the Wounded Warrior Project, Volunteer Fire Department for thirty-eight years (Captain & Vice-Chief), American Legion, Jaycees, Master Mason at the Ashley Lodge #66 and was a Deacon at the First Christian Church. His hobbies were travel, automobiles and airplanes. Jack never met a stranger and with his many experiences, he was always ready with a humorous story. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to further Parkinson's research or Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark. Cremation arrangements by Beard's Funeral Chapel.
