William D. Smart

William D. Smart died suddenly on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the age of 83 in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Bill was born on January 27, 1932 in Morton, MN. He was raised in Morton, MN, lived in Duluth, MN for 27 years and then moved to Bella Vista in August 1997. He was a 20 year veteran of the Air Force and served tours in both Korea and Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eldest daughter, Jackie Niemi. Bill is survived by his wife Doris whom he married in 1977; three sisters, Ermalee Menk of St. Peter, Minn., Annie Pfieffer of Invergrove Heights, Minn. and Avis Ness of Robbinsdale, Minn.; three children, Bill Jr. of Superior, Wis., Cindy Jeffers of Oneida, Tenn. and Tracy Kostrzab of Wasilla, Alaska; and stepsons, David Lindahl and Mark Lindahl. A memorial service will be held at Bella Vista Community Church on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Dr. Jeff Reed officiating. On-line condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.
